
Doreen Slessor, Director
Doreen has worked in the non-profit sector for 23 years; the last 19 being at the senior management level. Ten years ago she stumbled upon the field of fund development, fell in love with it, and has been a professional fundraiser ever since. Doreen has worked on successful campaigns from $30,000 to $3.1 million annually, and has managed teams of staff and volunteers from 6 to over 5,000 for provincial door-to-door campaigns.
She has worked with and on boards for most of her career and is involved with the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Alberta Association of Fundraising Executives. Doreen has also been a board member with the Moose Lake Community League, Bonnyville Town Council Advisory, All Fundraisers Golf Tournament board, St. Albert Daycare Society and Family Therapy Group. As well, she is actively involved with the Glenrose Hospital parent advisory, the U of A Physiotherapy practicum program, Provincial Physiotherapy research studies, and the Cerebral Palsy Association.
Doreen is married and has four busy children (ages 12, 11, 10 and 6), who are involved in many activities in St. Albert and area. She looks forward to making a difference in her community and being a part of the Senior Citizens' Club.
