Ishvarlal (Ish)Thaleshvar, President
Ish worked as an Aeronautical Engineer for the Aerospace Engineering Test Establishment, the flight test agency for the Canadian Forces in Cold Lake, for 36 years. He retired from the position in 2006, and he and his wife moved to St. Albert to be close to their children and grandchildren. Ish and his wife enjoy St. Albert for its natural beauty, trails and parks, and most of all, the opportunities it offers for senior citizens to be involved in the community. One of the first things Ish did upon moving was to become a member of the St. Albert Senior Citizens' Club. This membershp allows him to meet new people and play bridge - a passion of his for many years.
In addition to being on the board and volunteering for the SASCC, Ish is a member of the Board of Examiners of Association of Professional Engineers and Geophysicists (APEGGA). In Cold Lake, he served as a chair for the Association of Professional Engineers and Geophysicists local branch and as a member for ten years. Ish was a leader with the Boy Scouts and served as a chair for the Group Committee of the First Cold Lake Scouts. As well, he was a director on the Cold Lake chapter of the board of Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
In his free time, Ish enjoys babysitting his grandchildren and spending time with family. He and his wife also enjoy the Servus Place for the fitness studio, walking track, drop-in programs and aquacize programs. As well, Ish and his wife enjoy traveling to different countries and places.
