St. Albert Senior Citizens' Club

Our Mission Statement

The St. Albert Senior Citizens' Club is an organization of senior citizens committed to the support of, and fellowship with, seniors in our community and surrounding areas.

Shirley Samuel

Past President

Shirley and her husband came to Canada in 1975 from England. They lived in northern Manitoba until moving to St. Albert in 1978, a place they felt had the type of community they were looking for. A picture of Shirley Samuel, President of the St. Albert Senior Citizens' Club

Shirley managed Marlin Travel in St. Albert Centre for twenty years prior to retirement. Although she had been in the travel business for thirty-five years, both in England and Canada, she considers the last twenty years in St. Albert as being the most rewarding and feels privileged to have met so many wonderful people.

Shirley spent a number of years as a fund raising committee member the Youville Home. She was involved in some very successful events, mostly fashion shows at the Arden Theatre, that provided essential needs for Youville residents.

Prior to joining the Travel business in England, Shirley was in the Nursing Profession. Personal problems made it necessary to leave the profession that she loved to pursue other choices. Both nursing and travel are people related jobs.

As a member of the board of directors of the St. Albert Senior Citizens' Club, Shirley hopes to be able to bring some of her past expertise to help enrich the club and other seniors in St. Albert .
