Planned Giving

Many friends of the St. Albert Senior Citizens' Club are making investments into the future by including the Club in their estate planning. Changes to the federal tax legislation have created more giving opportunities than ever before. You can show your support by:

  • naming the St. Albert Senior Citizens' Club in your will
  • establishing a trust fund
  • making an outright contribution

A specific contribution to any program or activity will help ensure the continued growth of the St. Albert Senior Citizens' Club. For more information about planned giving, contact Lynda Holden, Executive Director at the Club.

Endowment Funds

What is an endowment fund?

Endowment funds are created by donors making gifts to the St. Albert Senior Citizens' Club. These funds are pooled together and permanently invested. This means that the original gift (the capital) remains intact forever. A portion of the investment income is available every year to support the Club and programs offered that are important to you, the balance is re-invested in the fund to ensure continued growth. Professional investment advisors are retained and manage the funds.

How can you create a Named Endowment Fund?

With a gift of $10,000 you can create a Named Endowment Fund. You can select how your fund will support the Club activities important to you:

  • Choose a specific area(s) you wish to support in advance through a Designated Fund;
  • Provide ongoing input, year after year, regarding the area(s) you wish to support through a Donor Advised Fund;
  • Support an area(s) of particular interest or concern through a Field of Interest Fund;
  • Help the Board of St. Albert Senior Citizens' Club respond to priority areas of community need through a Community Fund.

Would you like to see the St. Albert Senior Citizens' Club's future secure? Make sure the services enjoyed at the Club by today's seniors will be there tomorrow! By making a donation to the Endowment Fund today, you will ensure seniors have a place to go and know that society does care.

Memorial Donations

Memorial donations are accepted by mail, in person at the Club or over the phone by credit card. A receipt will be mailed out to the donor with a memorial acknowledgement letter sent to the relatives or family member of the deceased. Memorial envelopes also available upon request by calling (780) 459-0433.

Other Methods of Contribution

Cash donations are only one way to contribute. Other suggestions are:

  • donate services to be used in-house or given away as a prize
  • start an employee/employer matching program to increase the company exposure
  • offer employees paid time off to volunteer
  • hold a fun company event and donate the proceeds
